Residential apartments at the pier
I like this, great angle and lighting and the reflection really makes it.
Another great shot Andrew - and not a bird in sight!! ;)
A splendid photograph Andrew
Superb
Spoiled by them two pieces of litter floating in the canal.
When you look at this photo upside down only the path gives it away . Well done !
I really like that...are the apartments on the Trencherfield side of the canal ?
Mick do you look at the negative aspect of every photo i think your glass is always half full.A super photo Andrew thanks for posting.
Great composure and exposure - that full frame makes a difference.
Great nightime photo Andrew very clear, and detailed.
smashing photo andrew, and there is 3 pieces of litter mick, but dont think it spoils the photo
I don't really think (on this occasion!) that Mick was trying to be negative. The photo is superb but would've been even better if those floating bits in the canal were not there.
No nits to pick, I think it's a belter!
P.S. as for the floating rubbish, it is the canal after all.
A cracking photo Andrew. As for the litter I didn't really notice it but it is unfortunately a sad fact of life when you photograph the canal these days. Unless you dive in and fish it out or "clone" it out in Photoshop you are stuck with it.
A GREAT PIC ONE OF THE BEST YET
Mick....youv`e got damned good eyesight.
Mick top fault finder ,why?
Great photo.
Canal's clean compared to what it was in the 1960's. I remember it was no more than a watery rubbish dump! On our way to school we'd even see dead dogs floating in it.
I read somewhere that the water in the 'cut' is now grade 1...
I just thought it could have been Photoshoped out.
I use I.P.Plus for improving photo's Mick. Its an old and cheap program I had with Windows 98, but its superb.
It would have soon made the litter disappear!
Mick - the number of times you've complained about photos being "touched up" LMAO!
Maybe Andy is attempting to show the juxtaposition between the clean, trendy modern urban housing and the reality of the industrial setting of the waterway in it's original context?
(But yeah I would have photoshopped it out lol)
Nice shot Andy!
Oy's absoloutely right - i liked the irony of the trendy modern apartments against the rubbish in the water ( from a toggers point of view would have liked to see more dumped there to provide a stark contrast!). As a pie eater it always drives me mad seing rubbish tipped about the town but acknowledged Bill's observation that things are cleaner now than in times gone by. The cut was a byword for rubbish dump when i was growing up!
Andy
Mick, the litter ads to the photo showing the kind of society that some consider as normal it taday. I find it sad that some people just throw litter on the streets etc instead of using bins.
Before anybody mentions rubbish, you should see what Mick puts on a plate :o)
"THE" negative poster of WW..:o(
Tek no notice..........He'll never change
If there was a Wigan calendar with Andrew's pictures in there, I'd buy it instantly. Makes our town look quite glamorous in parts ;)
