Great angle on this shot and love the sky too.
Well done.
Was in there on Monday.. am very impressed. Good picture Andrew.
Looking good.
Who cleans the windows? A vandals delight to in boozy Wigan!
A great shot,Andrew,lots of atmosphere.
Went in yesterday as my books were due back. Won't be going again. It's a chaeacterless glass box. Have we all lost our local libraries to fund this?
I know it should have read characterless.....realised just as I posted it!
Full frame made the exposure?
Millgate prison is at the bottom of the steps!
Pardon my ignorance, but just exactly what is inside there??.

God the the Wigan Life Centre web site http://www.wigan.gov.uk/WiganIsChanging/WiganLifeCentre.htm
That should have been Go not God :-)
Love the picture---not so sure about the building. ...It doesn't fit into my memories of Wigan.
Say what you want about it, but personally I think it looks fantastic, just looked at the website, and for once, credit to the town planners!!It may look characterless, but most things do in winter, just think how fab it will be in summertime.
How will it look in Summertime? It will look like a glass box, just like it does now.
That's a really striking picture Andrew.
Look at the website Irene, the project on the whole will be amazing in the summertime, places to sit outside, with lots of plants and greenery, its def an improvement on how it was before. finally Wigan council get a thumbs up from me!! :D
I respect your opinion and thankyou for your respect to me in your polite answer, but we already had a library and there was no need for the building of another one. They are closing branch libraries left, right and centre with no thought for the people who have difficulty getting into Wigan to the glass box. The money spent on this could have kept them open.
It reminds me of the new Jubilee library in Brighton; no atmosphere - the library it replaced was a great place to use.
Thats a very valid point Irene and totally agree with you on that, sadly us ex pats dont hear about this side of things, and just get to see what looks like improvement on the town!! getting rid of all the branch librairies, to have one town centre location is def not good for all, in that respect, thumbs down!!:(
Great shot, great building.
