Why disused...have Asda done a runner ?

The depot was closed as part of Asda restructuring, the clothing network within Asda was expanded and other bigger depots have been created to take on the extra workload as George clothing is now a dedicated brand with stand-alone stores.

Its moved to skelmesdale, it was not food and drink.

Traffic jams from Wigan to Ince didn't help.

So what is going to happen to this disused depot Mr T ? Is it going to be left so Asda can hold onto the land for future development...a tactic that so many supermarkets employ these days? Just waiting for the right time, becomeing a blot on the landscape meantime ?

Before Asda the site belonged/used to Jacob Howorth and before that John England tubes which later became Martland and England.

I don't think the depot is owned by Asda, just leased Helen. Though not 100% sure.
