A Tangled Mess
Photo: Bill Eatock (Fuji bridge camera utilising full 30X optical zoom)
Just shows the stuff we need to make the world go around.
Lucky for us we dont notice most of it especially all those electricity pylons that are spoiling the views of the countryside.
Nice one Bill! Great how the zoom compresses the scale. Wigan Town Hall in the middle doesn't look that far away!
Amazing shot. Really puts across how messy the overhead wires are.
This is a good unusual view of Wigan.
Superb photo Bill. The water tower at Prospect Standish looks to be just a stones throw away. Glad to see that they are replacing the tower on the Municipal Buildings too, pity the original terracotta bricks from the dismantled tower were lost.
What a mess - something we don't notice. Glad we have some nice areas in Wigan.
its a nice shot of my work place we av to work under the knitting every day.
Blimey, what a interesting photo.
Is that really the water tower at Standish in the background?
Frank, I think it's actually the pavillion in Mesnes Park!
I matched up the tower in the background via Google Map. Hard to believe, but, as Cyril tells us, it is the water tower in Standish.
They are a mess the overhead electrics. Progress I suppose?
At least it means Wigan has an intercity rail line.
As for me, I reckon they should have stuck to diesels.
I went onto the bridge where this photo was taken. What a mess those wires are! I've never noticed it before as I never really thought of looking. Good to see such photo's in order to remind us of what's around us that we don't usually know about.
I remember a great chippie near here. Not quite sure its the same place though.
