Beautiful rose & I bet the scent is lovely.
Mick if you were out buying roses you wouldn't get one like that...you would get a florist's rose grown in countries like Israel, Italy or Columbia.
That rose is an English Rose...the best.

well done, one of my favorites, the Lancashire red rose, even though we're Greater Manchester. Well done John. (I still write Lancashire on my address Letters)

Comment by: Brian on 3rd November 2011 at 18:07

Take heart Colin, Greater Manchester County ceased to exist in 1986. You never left Lancashire and to put LANCASHIRE on your letters is correct providing you include the postcode..
No legislation has ever been introduced to alter the traditional county boundaries! Manchester is in Lancashire!!!!!

There's always something very striking about rich reds and greens together. What a beauty! Lovely shot again John.

If this Lancashire Red Rose as come from a shop then it will have been air flown from China because China is now the Rose growing capital of the world.

Have a boat in Canada, that is named the Lancashire Rose, and yes a picture of the rose in the middle, for all to see.

My goodness Mick, you are the fount of all knowledge...things must have moved on a pace since I was in the business of knowing where roses were shipped from !
