The first time I saw a Dipper in Wigan, I was stood about five yards away from where the photo was taken

Nice to see this river looking so good, is this the one that used to be yellow. The mineing campany [I think it is] are doping a cracking job of cleaning this water up. Well Shot Ron

That is not the yellow river, it is the River Douglas. The yellow river is a stream that runs down the Whelley side of the plantations.

John you're thinking of the Yellow Brook that joins the Douglas further down river past the bridge, see photo 30/10/08. The Douglas used to be polluted by the dye works further up from Ron's photo. H.
