Photo-a-Day (Wednesday, 17th August, 2011)
Work continues...
Photo: Dave (Nikon D700 with Nikon 24-70mm F2.8 AF-S )
Looks more tidy than the last shot.
Good to see everybody working
The changing face of Wigan but what a great job! Look forward to seeing the changes on my next visit!
Its 17th August, what use is this?
All these 'new builds' are all very well - but they have took most of the parking away from this area.
I agree, but they have increased the amount of car parking down the length of Library St.
Great photograph!
It might look more tidy Ken, but look at the parking places that have been lost.
Freda, they have decreased the amount of parking in Library street, they have replaced some with loading bays, and they have also limited parking to one hour.
Stuff your parking spaces! get it walked or use public transport! who wants to keep seeing rows upon rows of cars lining the streets?
So next time I want to collect something heavy from Wallpaper Suplies I can call for you Jeff, you should be able to get it on the bus okay.
In a word Jimmy, Yes. Although you could hire a van and do it the right way. How do you think people without cars manage?
Looks a lot more "organised"than the picture in July....perhaps the heath and safety bods paid them a visit !!Good pictureDave.
jeff is a van not the same as a car then ?
What's going to happen to the current town hall / old mining college?
I don't know Lee. I work in there and haven't been told anything LOL! The library in the basement is moving to the new building next to the weind, and the staff on the 2nd floor are moving into the new building in this photo so I guess things are changing but as far as I know us lot on the top floor are staying put.
i wish google would update the Wigan maps and photos, there is no sign of this on streetview. Is this the new swimming pool on the left ?
