Mayor's Boatyard


Mayor's Boatyard
Built around 1880 by James Mayor & Co to maintain canal boats this building was in a sorry state. Fortunately, it has been refurbished as offices and looks great.

Ken, it's on the opposite side of the canal from Trencherfield Mill, and it's off Swan Meadow Road, to the right of the photo you can see part of Eckersley's Mill.

Just a shame it wasnt put to use as a boat yard (again) or an attraction to attract boaters to Wigan

good picture ,wish someone would tell me how to get my fuji finepix camera repaired , no camera shops in wigan closed down .dave you any suggestions ?
