From whats been happening in the park better leave the steel shuttering up once pavilion is completed

Its coming on very well and will look lovely and modern when its finished.

Cant believe there was a group of protesters going round who wanted to keep the park as it was run down, unused and unsafe.

I hope it will be a lot better and free from the morons that are intent on making it their park, the last time I went in there they were shining those laser pens at folk, I did phone the police but of course when the cavalry eventually turned up they had slithered back under their stones. And last week it was reported that they were having sex in the open by the statue of Francis Powell. Has soon as they are kicked out and kept out the better.

Sixty (!) years ago I just remember this building as a great place to be ...especially on a sunday afternoon for Hot Vimto with friends .....all so innocent and carefree then ....Happy days.

Spent many happy hours in Wigan Park, me and my sister Doreen. I remember taking jam butties and a bottle of water, playing on the slide and just watching the trains go by. Time past by really slowly then some 50 odd years ago
