Mistle Thrush
Nothing makes me happier than seeing birds and any form of wildlife in a photograph. Lovely shot Mick.
Now thats what I call a real spring photo..just brill, well done Mick.
Sorry Mick, where was it taken?
wheres my easter egg
Well taken. The mistle thrushes which have been around our garden all winter have gone off to nest elsewhere, I hope. Their efforts to nest nearby in the past were doomed from the start.
They chose, as here, a cleft in a tree before any leaves had come on the branches. It was easily spotted by the magpies... who just waited until there was a meal of young birds to be had.... It was very sad to watch.
I hope they've found a more secluded spot for this year's attempt.
If your interested you can watch a video of them here,,
