Pied Wagtail
what a great shot,don't think i've
seen this bird before.
very nice shot, a shame that the point of focus was just below it tho
I think it's important to focus on the animals eye.
It moved! A couple of these are regular visitors to the front garden - this pic was taken on a rare sighting in the back garden.
I have never seen one of these apart from the bird books. Well done for catching it though.
Quick tip ... focus on the eye..
I didn't mean to cause offence Rev, i know how hard it is to catch little birds in such a close focus.
Focus is not important on Photo of the Day.
After all its not a competition is it.
No offence taken - I'm grateful for the tips.
I love this photo! Thanks for sharing ...
On the focus issue - there were two of these birds around the house - I took a dozen pics of the other one, an immature male. In each one its tail was wagging up and down at ten to the dozen, ruining the shots.
Spot on Rev, these birds don't keep still, very difficult to take a clear shot. I think it's great and thanks.
Rev I'll think you'll find it's a magpie, which do look the same.
I often see pied wagtails on car parks looking for food. Magpies are a much bigger bird of the crow family.
Steve..It was supposed to have been an April fools day for the Rev, but he didn't bit, but you did....
APRIL FOOL Steve.
Touche Bob I note your comment was made at 12:27 to qualify it should have been made before noon on April 1st after then the fooler becomes the fool!
Steve...you've bitten, shame on you.
