Bridge Works

Bridge Works
The bridge over the River Douglas near Plantation Gates, Wigan Lane is being lowered by one metre and being strengthened as part of the Flood Alleviation Scheme further down river.

The arch (bottom left in the photo) is too small to take the water when the lake forms.

We have to take floods defences seriously these days, this is not a waste of money, it needs to be done.
