Good photo. The new Scholes, it looks a lot cleaner but will it have the character.

Lovely, are they council or private ownership?

I know it's progress, but it doesn't have the same character as the old buildings. Is it progress though?

How can Council tennants complain when they get houses like this. Would like one myself, especially at such low rents, or in some cases - NO RENT AT ALL.

lets just say the homes look ok but you can bet low lifes will be in there spoiling it and bringing it back down too gutter level.

The Scholes Picture House cinema was close to the area of that red door. There was also a mens custom tailors to the right of the cinema, I cant remember the name it could have been Jewish, E H Monks provisioners was to the left of the cinema. We bought all our poultry and pig food from them. O well only memories.
