if you can, you always travel through flights of locks in tandem, it's much easier all round. We did the Wigan flight on our own, hard work, but I met a lovely old man who chatted with me as I worked the locks, but he was quite upset that I no longer speak with a Wigan accent.

I like the name Billy Whizz. Good photo. We've never done the Wigan flight - too old for the journey on our own I think !!! We are moored in LEIGH and tend to go the other way - through Manchester.
