Photo-a-Day (Sunday, 3rd October, 2010)
Towpath walk
Excellent,almost a Gainsborough.
That could almost be a Constable painting...very nice.
Oh!... to be in England! What a great photograph Ron,,,Well framed, and I must say, good timing with the couple crossing the bridge
Is that the bridge were you turn to go down the Glasson Flight at Galgate
Nice one Ron ,does look like a painting very soft feel to the photo.
JohnB. It is the Leeds and Liverpool canal at Haigh. The Lancaster pound goes from top lock Wigan, to bottom lock Wheelton, and was originally part of the Lancaster canal, hence the Lancaster pound.
Well,it could either be a Gainsborough or a Constable...eh Dave.
Is that the same bridge that years ago - to the left - the boat-house used to be?
Great one Dave;it do;s look like a classy paiting.
Scene never changed in 50 years, Boat house used to be on left of bridge on photo, swam in canal many times, Happy memories,
Bet you didn't get the couples permission for their photograph. Didn't want to pay them commission. I know.
