Photo-a-Day (Tuesday, 2nd March, 2010)
Scram
Photo: Mick Byrne (Sony T700)
Looks terific but where's the mushy peas?
This photo should be considered torture. It was my favorite meal after a pub crawl. I now live in Canada (30 yrs). And you can't get anything here that comes even close.
UGH!
Okay. It is official, the Photo-a-day section has now gone to pot.
That has got to be the most revoting photo to appear on Wigan World. No disrespect to the photographer.
Brian has a sense of humour lol.
That pie looks as if it's been in the deep fat fryer along with the chips....I feel its heart attack country for the person eating to much of that stuff. Not a pretty pic in both respects !!
You will be pleased to know that theres a full photostory version of these Chips and Pudding that can be viewed all around the world on Youtube by click the link below.

It's not a pie Helen, it's a pudding.
Yuck!!!
Be thankful there's no slobbering sound, same as last time he posted summat like that..
Sorry, but this is not what photo-a-day is here for.
When I submitted some images of food that I had taken, to a stock agency, they where rejected. They suggested that I leave food photography to professionals who specialised in this.
Doesn't look like a 'babbies yed' to me. Strange photo to put on photo-a day, but just look at the number of comments it's brought. Well done lads.
I agree with Derek. You can't beat babbies yed and chips, with loads of salt and vinegar. Needs a barm cake though!
I think most of us Wiganers like pudding and chips, but we like them pipng hot and fragrant straight from the chippy so we're tempted to eat them, not subjected to them in a manner to put us off.
Hehe, love it!
its a"wigan" bought pudding n chips so whats the fuss?????
Oh my goodness me!! I think it's a great "photo of the day" I'm sure all the ex pats will enjoy it!
what time is it
some thing 2-8
Beats Pies Any Day of The week. need peas ans a slice of bread though
yuk!
Ive heard it said by a lot of pensioners that they cant digest the pastry of modern Wigan pies the same as they used to do so do when they where younger so they prefer a pudding more than a pie.
Im versatile myself and can take both and also a nice fish as well.
what no peas
This is the first photo a day that I really hated! and again I say yuck!
I will not be calling at that chippy for me tea!!
This represents the world of Wigan how? We're not all pudding munchers, you know. If it is, indeed, a pudding. Looks like cat food. Or a cat.
Well done for posting this pic. OK it's not top photography, but get a grip, it's Wigan World.... not birdspotters world. I get bored of looking at pictures of birds in peoples gardens which could've been taken anywhere, and nobody complained about a picture of a filthy mattress dumped in the road being posted a few weeks ago!!!
This picture is a snapshot of something in a Wiganers day and I like it.
Mick dont you mean SCRAN!
Roy... 'scram' is old Wigan for 'spiced' pudding and chips, it is normally an after sex snack. You eat it after having to 'scram' when her hubby gets home, as in 'scramble' through a window... you call in't chippy fer some chips and pudding on the way home.... spiced!
Scran is just good jack-bit.
Trust me... I know...
Looks like this lot, has been down under a few times.
not a good advert fot chippy i like pudding chips and gravy but a could not stomach them . good photo shame about food
I think this is a great Photo of the Day. When I visited England, this is what I remember being served! I think food pics are perfectly fine to have on here, after all, the site is called Wigan World and for people looking at it from other parts of the world, it is interesting to see the different local food items, too.
Babbies yed n chips.... mmmmmmmmmmmmm...lol.
I eat at Alan's chippy frequently and their pudding & chips is the best in Wigan.Top photo and top food!!!!!!!!!!
my heart goes out to Derek Platt (refer comments).
I must say Adelaide South Australia has something to rival this tucker err food. We call it a pie floater. A meat pie turned upside down in a soup bowl, then filled to the brim with thick pea soup. However, it must also be eater with tomato sauce and vinegar swirled through it. OMG I wish I could eat one right now. DELISH! (and this is no joke).
