Moorhens, coots? Don't know, it's still a cracking picture.--It has made me think of spring in what in Ontario is still the depths of Winter; that's definitlely a plus.

Just checked a bird guide, and they are Moor hen or some times called water hen. I must look closer next time. You can always rely on WW to put you right. Cheers.
