Good Photo Ron, looks like someone transplanted Blackpool tower there. Well at least the top of it.

Its unusual only the one section is covered in snow

Looks more like Cape Canaveral.
I remember a plane crashing into the hillside when I was a kid, probably around 1956. We could see it from St John's school in Pem.

Very nice photo,Ron.

Hi Fred

I think it was about 1957 and that you saw it from WGS. We were in one of the upstairs classrooms at Wigan Girls High when we saw the helicopter going over, taking nurses and doctors from the Infirmary to the scene of the accident.
Happy New Year to you. Spent Christmas and N Y Eve in a frozen Aspull... with 'flu.
I appreciate your Photos of Aspull and area Ron. Thank you.

Hi Ron, who's farm is that in the foreground? Good pic, did you go along Ephriams Fold to get it ?

Comment by: Ron D on 3rd January 2010 at 10:30

HI Ken .Yes from Ephriams Fold . The exact spot was over looking the gate that leads down to a farm. No idea the name of the farm .

Fabulous shot, I was always strangely fascinated by "t'television mast" as my Dad always called it as a kid and it's little brothers and sisters (thanks Dad!), can't imagine the landscape without them.
