Photo-a-Day (Saturday, 19th December, 2009)
Wiend
Would the picture-framing shop have, at one time, been Tickles? If so,have been there many times, with my Mum, then later by myself! It's hard to say, looking from the top, down. This Has conjured so many memories for me. Thanks, Mick.
I like it Mick, shame they put a bin there.
Very patriotic & we need to be more so...fly the Union Jack all the time I say !
This could very easily be a V.E. or Coronation day shot. Lovely.
Yes this was Tickle's --- I too went there on a weekly basis during the 50's and 60's. You could buy practically anything for crafts - or as the were known in those years -- Make do & Mend.
The other favourite haunt was Kane's Fent Shop - up the rickety stairs in Hope St. ( the little passage way from Standishgate to The Market,up by the side of BHS ).
