Wigan Infirmary
Nice one Mick.
Although many of us complain about the state of the NHS, when we need help, it's always there.
In many countries there is no NHS, if you can pay you can be seen to, otherwise go away!!!!!
Thank goodness there is equality here in Singapore.
Check your insurance, especially small print.I have spoken to travellers with bills from 10 to 300 thousand pounds after accident and illness abroad.
I went to my Drs last week for a 3 month checkup, checking blood pressure, he asked a couple general health questions and then I got a pneumonia shot.. 124 dollars it cost me, that's on top of the 500 dollars we pay every month for Ins.. We have a 1000 dollar deductible, each, before we can collect on the Ins..So don't knock your NHS, you're very lucky...
Hear Hear Janet! It's the same here where we live in Kentucky. You don't realise how much you miss the NHS until you don't have it.
This brings back memories of my only
personal contact with the Wigan Infirmary, at the age of about 5,
when I got a nasty rash, and had to go to the hospital every second day for horrible Sulphur baths. It was a big deal in the reduced war time bus services!!
Given what you adopted Americans are saying, why does half of America not want a variation of our NHS?
You know what the yanks think...If its not Private...But run by the People...Its no Good!..And a lot of Americans suffer for it!
Beats me Roy, I would like it, my daughter who is self employed and with a young child and can't afford to buy Ins, would like it.
The half that don't want it believe in Capitalism and believe that Socialism equals Communism which equals evil..
As I hear time and time again, Why should I pay for someone else and that's what I'd be doing in a NHS..
It's a very "I'm alright jack" country, don't care about you..
The USA still suffers from brainwashing in the 50's and 60's. They think that government run health insurance is a commie plot designed to limit your health care - never mind that commercial insurance companies already do just that, only worse.
