Does anybody know what year the present pub was built. I can remember them doing it as they built around the old White Swan. Probably the 50's.
looks like a good pub, never been in though.
I also remember the pub being built, Freda, and also looking down into the old pub as a child prior to this. I heard there was a pit found under the old pub or under the road where men would fight with clogs. Don't know how true this is. It was a good pub the last time I was in it around 1991.
By the way, both the old White Swan and the Church yesterday can be seen at: 'Street scenes - Lamberhead Green'.
The roof was put on by my teacher when I attended Bowton tech. His name was Harry ???? .Remember he said it was late 50's when he did it.....beautiful Westmorland green slate.
