There wasn't that many trees in INCE
when I lived over there.
Hi Dave..Was the photograph taken near walmsley park?
It's on Manchester Road from Hindley to Higher Ince, just before the railway bridge, Amberswood tip was situated on the right behind the mound.
I should have said Amberswood tip was on the left behind the mound not on the right, sorry about that.
When I lived in Wigan it was known as Amberswood Common.
What could be more welcoming.

I walk under that sign on my way to & from work. The branches on some of them trees need pruning, keep hitting my head on them : )
