Nice one Dave. I like the Orange tip for it's wing pattern and furry body. Yes, I can see the egg.

How stunning is that? Fantastic as far as the technology is concerned to be able to take such a close up photo and amazing to be able to see such a wonderful miracle as the laying of an egg of such a delicate species. Thank you so much for your skill Dave, it really brings nature into our increasingly technological age.

This is very nice, but if I want pictures of insects, birds or flowers I can go elsewhere on the internet. Why can't we have photographs of WIGAN here?

bluechieftain2 This is as much apart of Wigan as a half derelict building. Well executed and very pleasing.

Brilliant Dave. (Unless my eyes deceive me this section is called "Photo-a-Day" not "Photo-a-Day-of-Wigan")

Thanks for the feedback and nice words folks :)

I agree it's a fantastic photo, sharply detailed and superbly conceived in every respect. But it could have been taken anywhere. On "Photo-a-Day" on this WIGAN site I expect to see a photo which is identifiably of WIGAN.Next time, try to get a butterfly, a bird, an insect or whatever, against the background of some view which is recognisably of WIGAN.
