A scene that's repeated all over the country as these "Malls" recieve the treatment they meted out to the old shopping streets.

To be fair Dave,these shops have been empty for years,most before Index closed.

Spot on Jim, most of the shops closed between 10 and even 20 years ago (freezer shop) (photographers) (Shoe shop) etc and all closed because of the high rents and location not the recent recession.

Thanks for your comments everyone.I was working in Manchester when the Arndale opened and saw the effect it had on the shops around Piccadilly.

Why dont they wake up ,and lower the rents. Any thing is better than nought
