Laser open day

Nice one Ron. You should have been
there yesterday, lots of capsises.
Only one race. H.
Interesting photograph.
I learned to sail on the Flash, from there I progressed to sailing on the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic and the American Great Lakes.
I am a Wiganer now living near Toronto, Canada. Yes I still miss the place, and the beer.
Hey Wayne,
I too am a Wiganer (actually Ashtonian) now living just outside of Toronto in Brampton - not much of sailor though!
Wayne, perhaps you can tell us about the numbers on these yachts?
Some are all in red & others in part red.
Hi. Earnest, The higher the number ,the newer the boat. They are actually sailing dinghies, not yachts. This was a race meeting for Lasers only. cheers H.
Thanks Harry, but what about the colours? There`s another photo of dinghies today & all the numbers are in red.
Earnest, because they were getting
into high numbers it was written into class rules to make first two digits red to make them easier to read on the water when you get a lot of boats racing together, see Tuesday on the start line, any boat over the line too early is recalled.
Cheers H.
