It must have been very impressive when the mill was up and running employing many thousands over the years. I think it opened around 1900 but no idea when it closed.

YES ITS THE OLD CANTEEN . WE HAVE JUST TAKEN OVER THE LEASE TO CHANGE IT BACK INTO THE ROLLER RINK. WORK HAS BEEN DONE ON THE BUILDING AND SURROUNDING AREA TO TIDY IT UP. ANY BODY WORKED THERE WHO KNEW A GEORGE MAKINSON OR MACINTYRE. ANY HELP OR PHOTOES WOULD BE A BONUS.ANY BODY WANTS TO COME DOWN AND LOOK AROUND E MAIL ME ON g.holding@yahoo.com

when are you opening,my kids want to learn to skate,i used to go all the time in the 80s im sooo exited
