Stubshaw Cross Garden

Stubshaw Cross Garden
Pre-1974 this was a lovely walled garden with flower beds and benches. Maintained by Ashton UDC. I used to sit in there as a lad. Some say this was the site of the wooden "Stubshaw's Cross" in the 17th Century marking common land.

There is progress now to get it back to looking something like the original. Stubshaw Cross Residents Group are on their way to restoring the garden.
