St Georges
The school building is doing a good job of hiding there, Dave :o)
It is an impressive building - 4 storeys(?) high - your setting gives an interesting, different perspective.
would like to see that in black and white, bet it'd look like a great halloween picture, its even spooky in colour!
when i was in my teens we used to hang around that area, we thought it was haunted, used to go as fast as we could past it at night, great pic
And now its a nursing home.
I was in the infant school there in the mid 60's. Miss Taberner scared me too death !!!!
I went to that school in the late 50's and early 60' until I went to Wigan Grammar school.
Miss Tabener was and as far as I know still is a wonderfull lady. Last time I was visiting from the US a couple of years ago I ran into her in town.
I went to the school about 1960 my mother went to school with Mr Spencer. We lived in oxford st. before we went to Australia
started st georges 1946 didnt learn me a thing teachers just liked to dish out punishment they would have been done for assault now .
