The Packet House
The Packet House, Wigan Road, New Springs. By the side of the Leeds Liverpool Canal. In days long ago, even before my time, you could book passage on the packet boats that went to Chorley, Blackburn, and beyond... Or send parcels from here. It has also been a club, but now is a private residence. What else may it have been, who knows?

It is a house with an interesting history and looks like a lovely home now - well-captured Ron :o)
I love the idea of going on a boat along the Leeds Liverpool Canal - what were the packet boats like?

Hello Ron - I've found quite an informative website www.cjm.f2s.com about "The Project to Recreate the Famous Canal Packet-Boat".
