Wallgate
Now Dave, that's a good un. You even waited until the lights changed .Nice one .
You are very observant Ron,indeed I did.Apart from the bollards this is one of the few views in town that hasn't changed in over 50 years. It is also the spot where a double decker bus almost ended my short life aged 10 (my fault).
i like this pic, the pubs a odd colour though, like a pinky colour, anyway great pic :0)
Captured olour depends on the weather and time of day zoe.I think the colour is meant to compliment the bright red brick that seems peculiar to the area and possibly came from the brick works at Billinge.
Dave if ever your on the platform of the staion cannot remember the no but it is the one you take to go to Scotland from that platform look across to the right and on the Horizon there is a Tower that looks like a Crown perhaps you can get a Photograph of it, someone perhaps can Identify where it is and what it is. I tried but I only had a normal camera
I see a change for the good....
When I last lived in Wigan in 1960, all the buildings were black.
my memory of the bridge is the smell of the men toilets in the 1940s early 50s.
