Very ugly building, the 60's have a lot to answer for!

It was a milestone in its time, an Olympic size pool in Wigan was the Bees Knees - especially what we had before. Changing rooms along side the pool. The 'dragon lady' in charge used to stick her head over the door when you were still in your birthday suit!!

Where the old baths in the same place or somewhere up Millgate?

I used to go to the old baths as a VERY !!! young girl !! and remember it well. then attended the new pool. They then added on a gym which i have gone to for about 5 years now and It is such a great pity to lose this because friendships have been formed with young and old. It has such a relaxed atmosphere, no posers as i call them !! Wigan is changing fast and in my opinion it's not for the better.

Learned to swim there.
With 'Gidlow Senior Girl's High School.'
Got a certificate for managing to swim 'One Breadth'
Love to hear from any of the girls
who remember me.
