Great detail. I left Wigan in 1977 - can't think where this stretch of canal is.

Hi David

If you go under the railway bridge in the photo - shortly after you will come to Seven Stars Bridge and then the Pier.

On the left hand side of this bridge is the remains of an old coal tippler for filling canal bargies with coal,like the ones that used to operate at Wigan Pier and at Crooke village.
