I think many of you will recognise this, it is a barrack room ready for inspection, this one is taken from a book I got in Oswestry which was my, and many other young men's first taste of National Service.

This will bring back many memories (good and bad)for anyone who went through basic recruit training. I can still picture myself during the endless hours of bulling boots, ironing uniforms and making bedblocks up etc. Then sleeping on the floor because there was a billet inspection in the morning.
