Well done to Colin for finding that and to Ron for posting it, but I think whoever designed that had been watching too many of the children's science fiction programmes that were on the telly back then, like "Lost In Space" with puppets whose strings were clearly visible and dear old and Robbie the Robot!
This is only part of the wholesale changes proposed, take a look at the other proposal fro the town centre itself.
Who votes these people into power ???
The best plan would have been to build up the old gated town walls and to have kept developers out.
How on God’s earth did they think they could improve the town centre. It would have taken far better brains than those ‘in power’ at that time and this time! Cloud cuckoo land comes to mind.
