I remember the fireplaces inside when you got off the train in Central station.

A little girl from Abram, many years ago, used a toilet in the window display whilst her Mum was discussing the price of a new bathroom with the assistant! It wasn't my daughter but I did know the little girl and her mum!

The innocence of that child Irene. I have known workmen to use toilets in new builds that aren’t connected to the water system.
By the way I must say that bulky tiled fireplace is ugly towards today’s standards. I remember when we had a tiled fireplace put in our old house. It was a lot nicer than that one.

Would quite like that Rayburn Range though, it would cost you about twelve grand to buy these days.

Yes Strangeloop I love that Range. The ‘fitted’ kitchen seemed to be coming into its own at that time. American films would have been the inspiration. I remember seeing the film “ Young at Heart with FrankSinatra and Doris Day the kitchen was gorgeous with frilly nets at the windows. We were well behind times everything was dark and dreary.
