So beautiful, but where in Wigan is this? could be Scholes but i'm not sure about the mountains in the background,

Comment by: Carolaen on 12th December 2023 at 22:13

Phil. They are the Wigan Alps with Ben Wuchie just off to the right.

Comment by: Veronica on 12th December 2023 at 22:44

They look like the Toblerone Mountains in the distance at the top of Scowes.

Garry go easy with the Sherry and fossil fuel. Merry Christmas everyone.

“blub, blub, blubble, blub”

Would that be proper ‘Sherry’, or just fortified wine from Tesco’s ?

“blub, blub, blub”

Very best wishes to you also Ray and to all at WW.
Garry, have watched Michael Portillo's Journey Around Andalusia, I think it's episode 6 around Jerez region and its Sherry production centres, absolutely brilliant, you'll love it..

I watch Michael Portillo a lot and I think I have seen that one on Andalusia Colin. He has a home in Spain
( well he would have being half Spanish!). He has also ‘dropped off in Westhoughton at the White Lion. I doubt he would have had a sherry in there though. He went in with the head of the Local History Group Society and they ‘hid’ behind the door . It was just pretence for the tv cameras.

Comment by: Garry on 14th December 2023 at 14:57

Yes Colin, the Sherry of Jerez.
Cheers.

Phil, I think it is Scholes but much further up near Top Lock, those are the old slag heaps from the Iron Works in the background topped with snow.
