I don't know the date of the Council poster, but the bottom photograph showing three children, originally appeared in the book 'Acute Contagious Diseases', by William M. Welch and Jay F. Schamberg, which was first published in 1905.

Tony could well be that date I was just going off the look of the children..Thinking about it It could well be at the turn of the century when the disease was pretty rife.

I remember my Dad had three ring like scars on his arm from vaccinations,one was smallpox.
