Really sad, a lovely looking man. Can anyone tell me whereabouts in Wigan this photo` may have been taken?

I have an old studio photo of an aunt of mine sitting on that rather ornate chair. The photographers are Leslie Bros who had studios in Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan. The Wigan address is; Borough Studio, Market Square, Wigan.

Graham, Thanks for that information. I too have a photo` of James Magnall in the same chair and background. I had previously though it had been taken in a pub.

I stand corrected as to where the photo was taken,I just presumed it was Ashton as that is where he lived prior to Army callup,He actually worked at Haydock Lodge which was at that time a Mental Home where the rich sent there Parents when they could no longer look after them, and strange enough My Mother and Father worked there also,as did My Grandmother, seemed like a maritual meeting place, lol.its now Post House Hotel
