it looks mutch better than the state its in today, we rode past it today and was wondering whats going on with it as a while ago builders were clearing it and some new windows went in but its all come to a halt ?

St Mary's Church used the building as a second-hand bookshop for a while after it closed as a pub. It wasn't very successful, and we moved on. The Tetleys' lamp seen over the front door had by then moved to a new entrance where the central window is at the side, facing the canal lock. I still have the plastic windows from the lamp. I understand the building was bought by Ainscoughs, who own the reclaimed/scrap steel yard behind. As has been said, it looked for while as if something useful was going to be made of the place, but nothing has happened there for a while.
