The ford Anglia was replaced by the MK1 Escort, Launched in 1968, it had 1100cc and 1300cc petrol engines. The MK2 Escort, was launched in 1974, and sold millions, the car was a great success, it had 1100cc,1300cc and later 1600cc engines. The MK3 Escort, was launched around 1980-1, the first front wheel drive Escorts to be produced. The Escort range had many body face-lifts, and Later, ford started fitting Diesel engines. From saloons, hatchbacks, estates and vans. The Escort was Fords best seller. In 1990, the Escort-Orion was launched, like the MK1 and MK2 Escorts, people still wanted a boot. The much loved Escort production came to an end in 2000, X Reg.
All mk1 and mk2g escorts seem to go for silly money these days!
