A few times I have seen references to Millers shop and this should remove any doubts that they had a motor-cycle shop on Scholes. This was Stan and his younger brother Les was also in the game. They donated a silver Trophy to Hindley Motor Cycle & Light Car Club in the 50's before they had the big shop across from the Fire Station. E.T.

Millers was no 74 Scholes. My mother and dad had No 72 which they ran as a snack bar 1946-50.No 74 was formerly a Martins Bank and Stan Miller from Chorley opened it as a motor cycle shop about 1948.I remember him coming back from riding in the TT with his arm in a sling. His brother Les was a coach builder at Leyland Motors and the body bshop closed down and he joined Stan in the Business. In 1950 they bought our shop No 72 from us, and an empty shop No 70 and expanded the business which continued and moved on the Scholes developement.
