It could be Trevor Latham, front row left

They look such nice lads. I wonder if the lad named "Rhead" was related to the Rheads who had a business in the Market Hall in the 1960s? (Just because of the unusual spelling). The ladies who owned the stall lived in Ince and their nephew Billy was in my class at school, and in later he and his mother had a pet stall in the Market Hall, which Billy eventually ran on his own.
Dalton is a lovely area and I was saddened when we passed through it recently to see that the pubs, "The Prince William" and "The Beacon" are now closed down.

It's because of people driving passed them and not going in is the reason these countryside pubs close down.
Very sad indeed.

Irene the PRINCE WILLIAM is now "BURNED DOWN!!!!!
Reminds me of the joke Two Jewish men are talking..
Haimi to Abraham, "Sorry to hear about the fire at your shop last night"
Abraham to Haimi "SHHH it's tonight"

Irene, Bernard is the person who has named all the players. They had no connection to the family you mention.
Bernard is still going at a sprightly 87 but has always lived in Upholland and I think the family came from Stoke originally

Thankyou David. I hope Bernard is still going for many years to come!

Looks like my dad Tom Sudworth, he knew Brian Sixsmith from his time at Dalton

Comment by: Paul Sudworth on 26th April 2025 at 22:35

I think the chap 1st left front row is Tom Sudworth, my father. He played at Dalton from mid 50s to mid 80s. I remember Brian Sixsmith and his sons very well ( I also played there)
