The school was pulled down about 1969 and all the pupils moved to the new one which I think was called Moorside.
I'm pretty certain Harold Ashall was the last headmaster at Holland Moor School and the first at Moorside

Thanks David, Yes, I believe Harold was the head master, he was married to my cousin Enid ( nee Barton )who lived at Hall Green & later at Orrell. Harold died recently. Anyone know of Jean Gaskell ?

Harold & Enid were a good friends of my Mum & Dad. I'd been told he'd passed away in January

Hi! I know this is 9 years late but people have mentioned Jean Gaskell who lived in the school house, that's my grandma who is now 77!

Never mind being 9yrs late Becca, say hello to your Gran for me....Helen Bradshaw as was, I had a sister Anne I we lived at 235 Ormskirk Rd just by Back Lane. I remember the School House well....with the petrol pumps & the garage beside it.
