Those Frank Randle are quite good and a lot of folks liked his stage acts, and his portrayal of drunken men was very realistic and funny, though he'd plenty practice with him liking a drink. He was allegedly seen quite often with Diana Dors in the Boars Head and other Wigan pubs, no idea if true.

The name Jeff Nuttall rang a bell from the past, had a google and it describes him as a Lancashire actor, poet, writer, anarchist and social commentator from Clitheroe, it says he also did articles for Look North, I'm sure I've also seen him on the Granada programmes too, though it doesn't mention any. He'd probably done an exhibition or something in or around Wigan too as he does look familiar.

Mmm, don't know where the word films went to, it should have read - 'Those Frank Randle films are quite good'. Also those biography books are most likely to be very good too.
