I recollect the horse of a Rag and Bone man, dropping dead in a street off Wallgate. The reserve man in the police station, wrote the details in the occurrence book, and finished off by the quote. "It was carted off by the knackers."

I'll wager there was some fun and laughter the day that was read out Albert! (even bobbies we're fond of their jokes!)
