Tommy, you are right about my grandad only having one leg but it was due to a mining accident I was told by my mother. Grandad then had a small shop at No36 Bolton St where I would often visit when I was small, I have a photo that I will put onto WW over the next few days look out for it and thanks Tommy, your grandma Emma sure looks a fine lady.
I REMEMBER THE SHOP WHEN A GUY NAMED FREDDIE GRIFFITHS OWNED IT HE STARTED TO SELL FRUIT AND VEG.ALSO WENT ROUND WITH AHORSE AND CART.
Tommy, I have found 1911 census form completed by my granddad showing they lived at No 31 Bolton St,they later moved. I was a small boy in the late 40s and remember visiting No 36 where his shop was, he died in 1951 at the age of 76 yrs. Please look for pic I have posted.
My Sharon doesn't remember mother white looking like this she only ever knew her as an old lady with long white hair. It's nice to be able to show her and Emma's great great grandson also named ed what she looked like when she was young. Thanks
Tommy, I would dearly like to see that old photo you have of the men around Bolton St, PLEASE !. thanks - Walter
