Thanks Catherine, never met my grandad, he died before I was born. Nice to put a face to a name now.

This photo was taken in Iraq ( Mesopotamia ) Ww1 Grandad was infantry fighting a tough opponent. Turkish soldiers.I never knew him since he died in 1929 from malaria caught during the conflict
