What a lovely-looking lady your Mam is, Maureen. These pics are brilliant, portraying a 1950s world. I have a book of 1960s pics of Blackpool showing girls with rollers in their hair covered with headscarves, all ready to be combed out for a night in Blackpool. Hope you've got some more to share with us.
Thank you for your kind words Irene.
What a beautiful couple your parents were our Maureen....love Lizzie xx
Thank you our Lizzie.x
They are a very good-looking, stylish couple Maureen. Is that your Auntie Netta and her husband with them?
Hello Elizabeth..yes that's my Auntie Netta and Uncle Bert.
They all look so smart and well-turned out. A bit different to now.....it seems a lot of people have no interest in looking smart.
Maureen your mum and dad look a lovely couple. I don't recollect her at the ROF but that was probably because she may have worked on a different section to me. Most of the people I worked with had worked there during the war they used to tell great tales. There was a lot of ex servicemen worked there as well and people never left they seemed to stay for years. It was a wrench when I left! Also your photo of the rope walk on Grt George St reminds me of my mam but that would be well before your time. Regards
