Great picture and look at those cars, when they where all individual, not clones of one another like how it feels now.

You will never see a photograph like that taken from these modern times. Nowadays the child would have a helmet on, hi-vis jacket, drivers would NOT slow down... and trust me, I am not being critical o9f the photograph.

I would like to see a return to the times when a child could get on a bike and be safe... and taught to be safe... not mollycoddled and never allowed on a bike with adult supervision.

A truly lovely photograph.

To Dennis Miller, my Dad would be in total agreement with you with the loss of common sense approach taken out of the lives of the young. How are they supposed to develope, the parents are not all to blame for the problems of today. It is the ones we have allowed to have to much power to change things for the worse. I think people will wake up soon and start to turn the clock back in a positive manner. One can only hope.

Ah but Barbera... these days we make kids wear a cycle helmet giving them the false impression that are indestructible with it on, and I know a few grown up cyclist today who think the same thing.

A helmet will reduce the risk of injury in certain circumstances, and will in fact increase the risk in others. I am a cyclist and I always wear a helmet... because I have come to this conclusion...

It will either save my life... or give the paramedics a nice little basket to carry my severed head about in. ;-)
