Is that famous corner still ther; after the Crooked Wheel? I am lost a bit here. Where are we?

i think that the corner near the wheel is at the bottom rightof the photo, the two schools are on Tyrer ave, centre of the photo is Stephens way

wow just looking at the flats top left takes takes me back allmost 35 years what i wouldnt do to be that age again i loved living in baucher road the things i used to do as a young lad around the canals collecting birds eggs bmx riding fishing swimming in the canals scotsmans flash i felt like tom sawyer it was like an adventure playground kids of today have now idea how exciting it was id all so go train spotting at springs braanch anyway before i go i would just like to mention a few people i used to now stephen ellison john o grady stuart davis joey crompton

I just came across these photos again every time I se them I'm teleported back 38 years I lived in the maisonettes on baucher rd and went go st Thomas more high school in Newtown my dear old mum was from Kent and when mum and dad separated

I seem to have missed a but out anyway after my mum and dad separated me and my sister moved to ramsgate in Kent I keep on looking through these old photos in the hope that somebody recognises my name and gets in touch I travel to Lancashire at least once a year for nostalgia reasons and all the memories it evokes I spent my first 20 years in wigan and I loved it
